My partner and I and one of our best friends had purchased # tickets for this event tomorrow. We were going to buy our orange shirts today. I even got a fFri night off. We were so excited for this event ! nothing like this happens here in Colorado to often (except for pridefest) Im from Orlando and it remeinded me of “gay days” at Disney. Would have been a blast.

It is unfortuate that the event was cancelled because of poor ticket sales. What does that say about the GLBT communities ability to draw and support major events like the Gay Games, or major GLBT conferences?

What does that tell other venues about the “economic” muscle that the Denver GLBT community can muster?

Does this mean that the Pridefest party has 250,000 attendees because its free and the beer flows, with alot of skin?

While I’m once again looking forward to Pride I can say that I am disappointed that for the second year in a row it is also on Father’s Day. I can see it happening once because of possible scheduling conflicts but I really hope this does not continue past this year. I actually think this means less people will be in attendance as many wish to spend the day with family celebrating their Dads.
